Steve Latour to Leave Fraternity Staff August 31st; Accepts Full-time Position with the Foundation

CARMEL, INDIANA - Steve Latour, Central Michigan '04, announced his departure from the Fraternity at the beginning of June to pursue new opportunities. After considering various offers, he has accepted a full-time position as the Senior Director of Development with the Alpha Sigma Phi Foundation and begins on September 10, 2012. His last day in his current joint role with the Fraternity and Foundation as Director of Advancement will be on August 31, 2012.

"I am excited that Steve will remain with the organization and as he raises money to support Fraternity leadership development programs, his impact on the Fraternity will only continue. This is a tremendous professional development opportunity for Steve and he has a real opportunity to continue to make a lasting difference," offered Fraternity President and CEO, Gordy Heminger.

Foundation CEO Drew Thawley said, "He is joining the Foundation's effort to fortress the long term impact of Alpha Sigma Phi on a growing number of quality members by significantly growing alumni support of the Foundation."

Brother Latour joined the Fraternity's Staff in January 2005 and for nearly eight years has led areas such as, chapter development, expansion, Academy of Leadership, Burns Leadership Institute, Grand Chapter, Elevate, alumni engagement, membership education, chapter discipline, social media and marketing and communications. While on Staff he also served on the Board of Directors for the Fraternity Communications Association and just completed two terms as the Association's President. For the past 18 months, Steve has been serving as the Director of Advancement for both Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and Foundation.

Past Grand Senior President Mark Still summed up Steve's service best when he said, "Steve has touched thousands of Brothers through his various roles on staff over the past eight years. His passion for Alpha Sigma Phi resulted in strengthened chapter operations, enhanced character and leadership development programming, and more effective communications. Most importantly, Steve's sacrifices for, and commitment to the purpose of our Brotherhood has left a lasting legacy of better men. I count myself as one of those lucky Brothers who is better for working with Steve Latour."

Steve shared these thoughts, "To the Fraternity, and the kindness of my Brothers, I owe everything. I am excited about beginning a new chapter in my life. Being an Alpha Sig has made me a better man and for that remarkable experience I will be forever grateful."

Steve can be reached at or on his cell phone at 317-362-5655 as he will begin working remotely in his new position. All questions or inquires that members or vendors would normally send to Steve should now be sent to and the message will be promptly distributed to an appropriate staff member.
