Important Information About the Burns Institute

This is not a program filled with lectures about how to run a better meeting, how to recruit more men, or how to manage your time. It's about brothers getting engaged and becoming the catalyst that changes their chapter, their campus and their community. It's about becoming a leader, not just in their chapter, but in life.

Any meaningful accomplishment, idea, philanthropic project, or improvement began with one man in a chapter or provisional chapter saying, "I can do this better," and then taking action - not being a bystander. Unfortunately, too many are happy with the way things are and that is why nothing changes. The Burns Institute gives participants the tools and confidence to make the needed changes in their chapter or provisional chapter and leave a legacy for others to emulate.

WHAT IF I AM ABSENT FROM CLASS/WORK?
If an attendee is going to miss class or work as a result of the Burns Institute, there is a letter in the back of the Attendee Handbook that can be provide to an instructor/supervisor. It is highly recommended that attendees notify all instructors/supervisors as soon as possible so he/she has plenty of advanced notification. Those who wait until the week or day before the program tend to find unsympathetic instructors and supervisors, causing logistical challenges for the attendee and the chapter/provisional chapter.

The Fraternity offers a Notice of Absence for attendees to present to professors prior to attending the Burns Institute.
