Why did you decide to volunteer for Alpha Sigma Phi?
I decided to volunteer with Alpha Sigma Phi because Hudson had such a great experience as the fraternity president. I saw how this experience helped him develop as a leader and I wanted to be a part of that experience for him and his fraternity brothers. Also, I have volunteered for many organizations, locally and nationally, and I deeply enjoy giving back to meaningful organizations. Lastly, my career is in higher education so I enjoy working with and staying connected to current undergraduate students.
What have you enjoyed the most about volunteering for the Fraternity?
I have enjoyed being a role model for the members of Alpha Sigma Phi, helping them to become the best leaders they can be.
What advice would you give to a parent who is interested in being a part of their son's fraternity experience?
My advice for parents is to volunteer and stay engaged with your child whether they are in college or a recent graduate. Letting your child go and become independent is rewarding yet difficult. We all want our children to succeed, and through their struggles, growth and maturity, we can be proud of their assentation into significant careers and life paths. There is no road map, but it is an exciting adventure.
