Be an Educational Program Volunteer

Our Programs are about getting undergraduate men engaged in their Fraternity experience to become a catalyst that changes their chapter, their campus, and community. These programs help them grow as men and as leaders, not just to better their chapter, but make them better men for life.

Any meaningful accomplishment, idea, philanthropy project, or improvement began with one undergraduate man saying, "I can do this better." Feeling supported by a fellow member or an alumnus helps create this action.

This is where you come in. The Fraternity needs legions of alumni who have a passion for the Fraternity, but more importantly have a passion to help our young members see their potential and to help them realize that being engaged in their fraternity experience will help them all through life. The following are Programs the Fraternity coordinates. Each of these programs need alumni volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please send an email to tbtm@alphasigmaphi.org.

ACADEMY OF LEADERSHIP
The President’s Academy of Leadership occurs in January from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Facilitators are asked to arrive on Thursday evening before the program begins to participate in training and to meet the other facilitators. The Fraternity covers travel, lodging, and meal expenses during the program. While not necessary, those alumni with large and small group facilitation experience are needed. Ideally, Academy facilitators have been out of school for five or more years. The purpose of the program is to educate all chapter presidents who did not attend Better Man Weekend.

BETTER MAN WEEKEND
Better Man Weekend occurs in January from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Facilitators are asked to arrive on Thursday evening before the program begins to participate in training and to meet the other facilitators. The Fraternity covers travel, lodging, and meal expenses during the program. While not necessary, those alumni with large and small group facilitation experience are needed. Ideally, Better Man Weekend facilitators have been out of school for five or more years. The purpose of the program is to educate chapter and provisional chapter officers whose group is less than three years old.

BURNS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
Burns occurs in October from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Facilitators are asked to arrive on Thursday evening before the program begins to participate in training and to meet the other facilitators. The Fraternity covers travel, lodging, and meal expenses. While not necessary, those alumni with small-group facilitation experience are encouraged to express interest. Ideally, Burns facilitators have been out of school for five or more years.

ELEVATE - INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The International Leadership Conference occurs every year either independently or in conjunction with Grand Chapter. The program begins on Thursday afternoon and runs through Saturday evening. Facilitators are asked to arrive on Wednesday evening before the program begins to participate in training and to meet the other facilitators. The Fraternity covers registration, lodging, and meal expenses. Tracks at Elevate in the past have included but have not been limited to Career Preparation, Public Speaking, Health & Wellness, and Service/Philanthropy, so the Fraternity is always looking for alumni with specialized skills to help facilitate the programs tracks. Ideally Elevate facilitators have been out of school for two or more years.

GRAND CHAPTER
Grand Chapter occurs during even numbered years. The program begins on Thursday afternoon and runs through Saturday evening. Facilitators are asked to arrive on Wednesday evening before the program begins to participate in training and to meet the other facilitators. The Fraternity covers registration, lodging, and meal expenses. The purpose of Grand Chapter is to conduct the Fraternity's business and to provide leadership and life skills training in an effort to better prepare men for the upcoming year, all while networking with brothers at an international level. Ideally Elevate facilitators have been out of school for two or more years.
